Golf communities in Park City & the Wasatch Back
- Promontory: about 7,200 acres in the Snyderville Basin with three courses: Pete Dye Canyon, Nicklaus Painted Valley (2007) and The Hills, an all-par-3 course (2023), plus member ski lodges at Deer Valley and Park City Mountain.
- Glenwild: a Tom Fazio course (2001) that Golf Digest ranks #1 in Utah, with optional membership for homeowners, a spa and Nordic trails.
- Tuhaye / Talisker Club: a Mark O’Meara Signature course plus par-3 and putting courses. Mandatory membership includes a ski-in/ski-out clubhouse at Empire Pass.
- Marcella: Skyline, Tiger Woods’ TGR Design mountain course, soft-opened for members in 2026, with a second course, Ambush, under construction. Membership requires owning real estate in a Marcella community.
- Victory Ranch: a private community near Kamas with a Rees Jones course (2009) and private access to about 4 miles of the Upper Provo River for fly fishing.
- Red Ledges: in Heber City, with a Jack Nicklaus Signature course (2009), a 12-hole par-3 Golf Park, tennis, equestrian and fitness. Club membership fees are mandatory.
- Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club: a private equity club in Jeremy Ranch with an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay course (1981), recently renovated, that hosted the Senior PGA Tour from 1982 to 1992.
- Park Meadows Country Club: a private, member-owned club in Park Meadows with a Jack Nicklaus Signature course (1983).
- Public options: Park City Golf Club (the municipal course in Thaynes Canyon) and Canyons Golf at Canyons Village.
Country clubs in the Salt Lake Valley
- The Country Club (Salt Lake): incorporated in 1899 and on its current site near Parleys Canyon since 1921, restored by John Harbottle in 2006–07.
- Willow Creek Country Club: a private Sandy club founded in 1957, with 18 holes and about 500 members.
- Hidden Valley Country Club: a private Sandy club with 27 holes, renovated by Rees Jones since 2015.
What buyers should know
- Mandatory or optional: some communities require club membership from every owner (Talisker Club and Red Ledges say so in their official disclosures), while stand-alone clubs sell memberships separately. Check the CC&Rs and club documents for each property.
- Costs stack up: initiation fees or deposits, monthly dues, food-and-beverage minimums and possible assessments are all separate from HOA dues and property taxes.
- Who owns the club: member-owned clubs are governed by members, while a developer-owned club can change privileges. Review the club’s finances and governing documents.
- Membership at resale: confirm whether the membership transfers with the home, any transfer fees or waitlists, and whether a deposit is refunded.
- Season: Park City-area courses sit around 6,500 to 7,000 feet and have a shorter season than valley clubs, which is why many mountain clubs also offer ski lodges and Nordic trails.
